Meet Ken ... diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease (YOPD) in 2004 at the age of
38, Ken faced feelings of uncertainty and isolation. It didn't take long for his loving wife Ann to
become incredibly motivated to learn more about YOPD and ask what she could do to help. Inspired
by his wife, Ken worked with Ann to create team walks and fundraising events at first. Today, their
determination, dedication and drive has blossomed into an impressive non-profit organization
dedicated to raising awareness about YOPD called
Focus On A Cure Foundation for
Parkinson's.
More recently, Ken is featured in the award-winning documentary 10 Mountains in 10 Years.
This documentary film follows mountain climber Enzo Simone and his team of international climbers
as they scale ten of the greatest peaks in the world to raise awareness and funds for
Parkinson's (and Alzheimer's) disease. Ken's desire to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease
led him to partner with Back Light Productions, allowing cameras to videotape his Deep Brain
Stimulation (DBS) surgery and recovery in 2008. DBS treats the debilitating symptoms of Parkinson's
disease, such as tremor, rigidity, stiffness, slowed movement and walking problems.
The increasing number of movie screenings in major cities of "10 Mountains in 10 Years" has even furthered
Ken's accomplishments in raising awareness for a cure for Parkinson's disease.
Learn more about Ken & Ann's tremendous dedication to finding a cure for Parkinson's
disease. This is a fabulous informational website.
