The symbolic color for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Awareness is red. Epidermolysis Bullosa is a series of skin diseases that can cause severe blistering after slight trauma to the skin. The result is similar to burns that can cover most of the sufferer's body, including the eyes, mouth and throat. EB is life-threatening and life expectancy beyond the age of 30 is rare. As many as 100,000 Americans suffer from one of these skin disorders, many of whom are small children.
